In a conversation with Dr. Michael Nehls (“Querdenken braucht Mut”), the focus was not on looking back, but on the future. Not on old conflicts, but on the ability to act.
QUERDENKEN Requires COURAGE
At the heart of this conversation for me was one central question:
How do we remain capable of acting as a freedom-oriented movement in the long term?
2020 Was a Breakthrough – The Next Crisis Will Be Prepared
2020 was an unplanned awakening. Many people spontaneously took to the streets because they felt: something isn’t right.
The next crisis will be different.
It will arrive prepared. More strategic. More technical. More coordinated.
This time, we need more than courage – we need preparation.
The ability to act arises from:
- decentralized organization
- digital self-determination
- stable communities
- support for exposed individuals
- a commitment to peace
- a conscious use of our energy
Energy Is Not a Side Issue – It Is the Organizing Principle
One word ran through the entire conversation:
Energy.
Not only politically.
Not only organizationally.
But as a strategic guiding principle.
We must learn to:
- withdraw energy from existing structures
- bundle energy within communities
- protect energy through regeneration
- avoid burning out our own life energy
- increase the cost of repression without exhausting ourselves.
Those who live permanently in alarm mode lose strength.
Those who act consciously remain effective.
A movement must not become permanent burnout.
Regeneration is not a luxury – it is part of the strategy.
Decentralization Protects
Centralized structures are vulnerable.
We have experienced this firsthand.
Decentralization is not a technical detail – it is a protective mechanism.
Digital self-determination is a prerequisite for the ability to act:
- open source instead of dependency
- secure communication instead of surveillance
- local AI instead of external control
- Bitcoin as an option beyond state control
Those who are digitally sovereign remain independent.
Peace Is the New Common Denominator
I am convinced:
Peace will be the unifying theme of the coming years.
Not division.
Not internal infighting.
Not self-righteousness.
But cohesion and cooperation.
Especially in times of crisis, we need consolidation instead of fragmentation.
We need people who can tolerate differences without losing sight of what unites us.
Preparation Instead of Surprise
What made us strong in 2020 was courage.
What will make us strong in the future is preparation.
- understanding structures
- creatively developing forms of action
- reactivating decentralized networks
- relieving pressure on exposed individuals
- living solidarity
Supporting those who face political prosecution is not a side issue.
Solidarity is protection.
Everyone Can Be Effective
Not everyone needs to stand on a stage.
Not everyone needs to lead from the front.
But everyone can be effective in their own way:
- locally
- digitally
- within community
- calmly
- steadily
We do not need permanent outrage.
We need strategic maturity.
What made us strong in 2020 will carry us into the future –
if we are prepared, connected, and digitally sovereign.
Those who protect their energy, bundle it, and use it consciously
remain capable of acting – even in times of crisis.
